PPSREA Membership Committee

The Membership Committee exists to ensure the continued well-being of PPSREA through the recruitment of new members, retention of current members, and the promotion of member involvement in the association’s programs and services. The committee conducts an annual membership drive, schedules ongoing recruitment activities, participates in the maintenance of an accurate membership database, and interacts with various PPSREA committees to communicate feedback from members about its attention to the mission: Helping others and helping each other enjoy retirement.

The Membership Committee members are: Celestine Welcome, Chair, Stephanie Childs, John Ferrier, Joan Flores, Nathania Johnson, and Don Williams.

Active & Life Membership

Any retired employee of the School District of Philadelphia who receives a pension from the Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) is eligible for active or life membership. Lifetime members pay dues only once. Active/annual membership dues are paid each year and cover the period of January 1 to December 31.

Associate Membership

Associate membership is for any current school district employee aged 55 or older. Dues for associate members are paid annually. The spouses of active members may also become associate members. Associate member dues cover the period of January 1 to December 31.
